There’s one of the best ways to live a better life, get the outdoor activities! Everyone needs to take advantage of it, especially kids. This is so much better than letting them couching potato for hours. However, finding safe, fun outdoor yet beneficial activities for kids may be a little bit challenging but definitely isn’t possible.
In short, there are many good things in performing outdoor activities for kids. Being outdoor allows children to rip, run, and have fun. Let’s say, it strengthens their limbs as well as major organs, like the heart. It’s also eliminating stress and tension caused by many factors, such as family pressure or even preschool which doesn’t meet the kids’ expectation, friends who are no longer friendly, and teachers who are no longer hospitable. Trust me, all kids experience those kinds of things, and most of the parents have no idea about it.
That’s why you should have your children playing outside for some time and for good reasons. And here are some kid’s outdoor activities ideas you can use.
1. Time for the Backyard with the Trampoline
If you have a spare space in your house, such as a backyard, get your kids a trampoline. Jumping on a trampoline has long been a favorite time for children. It’s not only fun, but also beneficial for their health and academic. This bouncy thing can help them increasing their bone density, as they are in the age of growing up. Physical activity done on a trampoline can strengthen bone density as well as muscles. Increased bone density helps to prevent broken of fractured bones and osteoporosis.
But it doesn’t stop there, studies have shown that trampoline jumping can have an effect on academic success – by helping kids to learn to control a movement of the body, it can help the kids to learn. Because a trampoline teaches muscle control and coordination, many children have an improvement in academic when they use trampoline regularly.
2. Build a Treehouse
This is a huge project and seems to be impossiblydone by your kids. But if you have few weekends at home, proper tools, and time to supervise them, this can be great.
Building tree house promotes teamwork and problem solving between parents and kids. In addition, more hours are spent physically active, encouraging a healthy heart and general fitness, as different stages of the build process will provide regular and varied exercise.
The tree house has always been associated with kids’ outdoor activities. If you are successfully done this project, meaning that you provide them a place to play outside and explore.
3. Gardening
Not all children love gardening, but you can make it into a fun activity. Weeding, planting, hoeing, trimming the grass, and other gardening activities can be made into a game. You can make use of lawn mower to do all the activities. Ask them to ride with you or give them a chance to be behind the wheel.
Moreover, kids also can get a sense of accomplishment. After some time have a responsibility to watering the garden and take care of it, there will be a time they will get the result.
4. Outdoor Sports
Sports have been a popular outdoor activity for people of all ages over the millennia, and basketball is one of them that can be done in outdoor. Simply hang a basketball ring above your garage door or tree exists on your backyard, and it will be a great way to spend an afternoon playing with your kids.
5. Running Games
This is also one of the children’s favorite activities. You can play games such as a tag or hide and seek with your kid. If you think that hide and seek can be played only inside the house, then you’re definitely wrong.
This type of games can be done outside the house also. You can bring your kids to the nearest public park. There are many trees and public facilities which can be used for hiding. In addition, tag game is also great. You will have a lot of fun playing and running around with your kid.
6. City Guide
The idea of outdoor activities is by being outside, that’s why city guide is worth mentioning.
If you plan to do shopping or visit your mother as long as you live in the same town, you can place your kid to sit on the front seat of the car. Hand your kid maps or even GPS and let them decide which way you should take.
While you’re doing a shopping, hand them a list of the things that you should buy at that time and let them pick the goods while you’re behind the trolley. Do not attempt to interrupt your kid’s job as you give him/her a full of responsibility to have things done.
Those are six fun kids’ activities that you can apply to have them playing outside instead of spending hours in front of the screen watching TV or playing video games.
