Dessert is a part of Western foods standard. Candies are only consumed by the aristocrats before the rise of middle class in the 19 century. The development of dessert was implemented since the main ingredients that is sugar, is cheaper and easier to get. Cake, bread, muffin, ice cream, waffle is the examples of wide variety of desserts. Dessert usually served separately as snacks rather than cuisines. Some of cultures didn’t have separately dessert. Instead, Chinese food combined their sweet and unique taste in entire of their serving. The usage of “dessert” term only used if the cuisine’s ingredients comes from candies, sweet or fruits. Dessert is the perfect treat after main course. And here they are, the selections of the famous desserts around the world.
1. Sopapillas
They are probably the family of fried bread and sopapillas has been a delicious treat in Latin American countries. The word of “sopapillas” originally from Spanish word which mean “sweet fried dough”. After an intense examination, sopapillas comes from New Mexico about 200 years ago. Now, I will take you to the Thailand, and please welcome for the famous Thai dessert, it’s mango sticky rice! This simple dessert is consist of sticky rice, coconut milk and sliced mango. The combinations of these three ingredients are one thing that you must try.
4. Kurtoscalacs
The shape of this dessert looks like a chimney; therefore, the other names of Kurtoscalacs are Stove Cake or Chimney Cake. Kurtoscalacs is made from rolled yeast dough, sugar, and sweet spices. Kurtoscalacs are popular among Hungarians, so if you ever go to Hungary, you will see a lot of them eating these snacks.
5. Anmitsu
Japan is not only about sushi and ramen. This country is also known to have a wide variety of desserts with amazing visual appearances. Anmitsu is the Japanese most delicious dessert. The ingredients of anmitsu consist of seaweed gelatin called kanten, sweet azuki peanut paste called Anko, syrup, fruits, ice cream, and boiled peanuts. All of these ingredients are placed on a plate along with kuromitu black sugar. Do not measure your sugar level after eating this super duper sweet dessert.

This dessert looks like an apple pie at glance. A thin pastry is the secret of apple strudel’s delicious taste. Apple strudel’s filling consist of cinnamons, apple, bread crumbs and raisins. Apple strudel is served with a scoop of your favorite selection of ice cream. Apple strudel is the national dessert of Austria.

France is croissant and croissant is France. The previous word is enough to say that croissant is the elemental food of France. But, if we are talking about France, is not only about their famous trend of fashion. France is also the center of tasty French desserts. Although croissant is already known as the famous French food, but there is one dessert that you might didn’t know, that is Profiteroles. It’s an éclairs cake poured with chocolate. Profiterole is filled with ice cream. This is a real deal of French dessert that you need to try.
8. Baklava
Baklava is a Turkish dessert. Most of people thought that Baklava is a Greek dessert. The main ingredient of Turkish Baklava is syrup made from water, sugar and lemon juice while the Greek version of Baklava is made from honey. The taste and variation of Baklava’s shape is vary start from roll, spiral, diamond and box. The crust of Baklava is made from thin pastry layers coated with butter and filled with pistachio nuts and other various nuts.

Pavlova is national dessert of New Zealand and Australia. Pavlova is quick and easy to make. Pavlova can be found in every dessert restaurants or if you have spare time, you can make it by yourself at home. Pavlova ingredients are homemade pastries from egg yolk, whipped cream and fruits selection as the toppings. This dessert is low on calories so it’s safe to be consumed.

This cake is the American and European heritages. Cheesecake is made from two kinds of cheese such as mascarpone and ricotta. Fruits and biscuit are added as the base. Cheesecake is being introduced and it’s already consumed globally. You can found this cake in every dessert restaurants. The most popular kind of cheesecake is New York style cheesecake.
11. Ice Kachang
Ice Kachang is the popular dessert in Singapore and Malaysia. Ice Kachang ingredients consist of jellies, red bean, sweet corn, and palm seeds. All of these ingredients are mixed with a bowl of ice and condensed milk. Ice Kachang is suitable to eat in a hot temperature. Ice Kachang’s taste have been developed through the very first time it was invented. Other topping selection such as durian, nata de coco, aloe vera and ice cream have been added as the additional topping of Ice Kachang.

The taste and flavor of caramel will indulge your tongue until you didn’t realize that you already eat a lot.
