The price of this type is relatively expensive and therefore, this camera needs an extra maintenance so we don’t have to spend more money to maintain or repair our camera. However, there are easy tips for maintaining your DSLR camera and you can do it at your home. Here they are.
1. Stay Away From Water
Water is the biggest enemy for any kind of electronic devices including your DSLR camera. Even your waterproof camera has a certain deep measurement so it doesn’t mean that your waterproof camera is really resistant to water. DSLR camera is also vulnerable toward water and humidity. Water or any other liquid substances could bring the humidity inside your internal camera and causing damages from there.
2. Batteries Maintenance
The second easy tips for maintaining your DSLR camera is coming from the battery. Lithium-ion battery could stand for 500 times of recharge cycle before the performance is starting to reduce. So, don’t be surprised if your battery is draining so fast after a period of time. You better replaced it with the new ones and disposed the used battery on a special container. Don’t put your battery in the extreme temperature above 43 Celsius degree. This extreme temperature will cause a permanent damage into your battery. So, you need to put them on a cool and dry place.
3. Lens Cleanliness
Cleaning the lens is also important to keep the condition of your DSLR camera. As the first treatment, do not spray the cleaning material directly to your lens. Spray the clean material into a microfiber cloth and wipe it slowly to the lens. Don’t touch the lens with your finger. Make sure to always put on the lens hood to minimize the chance of touching the lens with your finger. The lens hood will also protecting the front lens from any kind of impacts. Put on the lens hood to minimize the dust entering your camera’s surface.

You will get an original camera strap when you buy a new DSLR camera. But, if you don’t like the original camera strap, you can buy various types of camera strap available in your camera stores nearby.
6. Keep off from the Direct Sunlight
Avoid putting your DSLR camera in a direct sunlight. Do not put your camera inside your car for a long time especially when you park your car on open environment. A DSLR camera has a safe range of temperature and the excessive heat accumulation will increase the chance of damaging your camera.
7. Stay Away From Salt
Capturing the amazing scenery from the oceans that you already visited is definitely fun. However, you need to be extremely aware with the ocean water since it contained with salt. The amount of salt inside the water ocean and it has the corrosive property which is dangerous for the metal components inside your lens and camera lead to the chance of getting rust. After taking photo near the ocean, use a cloth to wipe the salt remaining in your camera. Make sure to wipe it thoroughly before you keep it into your bag.
8. Don’t Push Too Hard

Don’t force to open and rotating it when it’s stuck. Memory card is used as the data saving media. The memory card could be in any kind of types such as SD, CF card and so on. The other camera accessories like lens filter, lens hood and flash must be regularly maintained to keep up the good condition.
10. Dry Box
Camera storage is also important to maintain your DSLR camera. Make sure to put your camera in a cool and dry place. If you have an extra budget, you can buy a dry box or cry cabinet so you can control the humidity level. If you have insufficient budget, the usage of silica gel is the cheapest solution. Avoid putting your camera near a strong magnetic field because it can disturb the electronic circuit inside your camera.
11. Camera Bag
This thing is really important especially if you like to go anywhere along with your camera. You can bring your main weapon in your camera bag. After you keep your camera inside the bag, clean up the inner part of your bag and the outer part of it. For a maximum result, you can use a vacuum cleaner. Make sure to clean up your bag every time you used it. You can also wash your camera bag periodically especially when you are not used it for a long time.
